Building on its rich historical tradition, the World Sokol Federation continues its mission of strengthening international cooperation and supporting member organizations around the world. Founded in 1994 as an international non-governmental organization, the World Sokol Federation (WSF) unites Sokol organizations across multiple countries, coordinating their activities and promoting the ideals established by Dr. Miroslav Tyrš, namely the harmonious development of a healthy body, a strong spirit, and civic responsibility.
Through events such as Slets, educational programmes, and international initiatives, the WSF reinforces cooperation, mutual support, and the exchange of experiences among its members. At the same time, it plays an active role in preserving and promoting Sokol traditions while ensuring their relevance in a modern, global context.
The WSF also strengthens its global community by encouraging direct participation in shared initiatives that unite Sokols across borders. Activities such as the Worldwide Sokol Walk emphasize friendship, solidarity, and a sense of belonging, bringing together members of all generations regardless of location. By promoting collective engagement, physical activity, and community spirit, the WSF demonstrates that Sokol is not only a movement with deep historical roots, but also a vibrant, living community that continues to grow and inspire future generations worldwide.
Today the Federation associates 14 Sokol organizations from 18 countries and has approximately 250,000 members worldwide (as of 2026).
