On the occasion
of the anniversary of the foundation of the independent republic on 28st
October, President of the
Czech Republic Milos Zeman awarded the 1st degree Medal of Merit to the president
of the Czech Sokol Organization, Hana
Moučková, for her merit in the state
of education. President Moučková received the award at the
ceremony in the Vladislav Hall of Prague Castle.
“I take it as an appreciation of the entire movement, the activities of all Sokols in every corner of our country, our
importance for the history and present of Czech society. It certainly reflects
the successful organization of last year’s Slet and the current increased activity of the Sokol
movement in public space. That is why I am proud of this award,”said Hana
Moučková.
President Zeman awarded 42 personalities from the fields of science, culture
and sports, as well as important military veterans and politicians.
