Representatives of the World Sokol Federation took part in the seminar “Odolnost obyvatelstva a připravenost na krizové situace”, held at the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in Prague. The event was organized under the auspices of Jan Bartošek, Member of the Czech Parliament.
At his invitation, the seminar was attended by Damian Małecki, President of the World Sokol Federation, and Martin Chlumský, President of Česká obec sokolská.
The seminar focused on some of the key challenges facing contemporary European societies, including societal resilience, crisis preparedness, civil protection and cybersecurity. An important part of the discussion concerned the role of civic and sports organizations in educating younger generations and strengthening local communities.

For the Sokol movement, these issues have particular importance. Since its beginnings, Sokol has combined physical education with civic responsibility, community involvement and the development of strong character. Today, this tradition can continue to contribute to building active, responsible and resilient societies.
The participation of Sokol representatives in the seminar also provided an opportunity to emphasize that Sokol remains a living movement with a role to play in responding to contemporary social challenges.
The World Sokol Federation sincerely thanks Jan Bartošek for the invitation and the opportunity to participate in this important discussion. We look forward to further cooperation and dialogue on the role of civic organizations in strengthening our societies.
