Following the important day of the Czech Republic – Memorial Day of Sokols, a World Sokol Federation Board Meeting was held on Wednesday, October 9th. Already on the eve of this meeting, members of the Board participated in commemorative events held on the occasion of the Memorial Day of the Sokols at the Tyrš House in Prague and together with the Czech Sokols honored the memory of all Sokol victims in the struggle for freedom and democracy. At the opening of Wednesday’s meeting, the President of the Czech Sokol Association and the 1st Vice President of the World Sokol Federation, sister Hana Moučková, welcomed all the participants on behalf of the host organization. The meeting was then chaired by the President of the World Sokol Federation, sister Jean Hruby. At the beginning of the meeting, the delegates, guests and the new Secretary of the World Sokol Federation, Radka Štécová, were introduced. The agenda included reports from the Secretary, Treasurer and Auditing Committee, and a report of the Director of Men and Director of Women about the WSF activities. This was followed by brief reports of the activities of all member organizations. The next points discussed were the forthcoming Board meetings, Slets, and other major events. The director of the CSO office, Marek Tesař, presented the new Sokol 2030 Strategy to the representatives of the foreign Sokol countries – members of the Board. His presentation attracted considerable attention and very positive response among the participants.
